What it is
Practice Control Tower is a CQC inspection-readiness tool for GP and private healthcare practices. It is pre-launch, and the supplier is taking sign-ups to a waitlist.
Who it’s for in private general practice
Practices in England that want one place to track what the CQC expects and the evidence they hold, whether they are preparing to register or getting ready for an inspection. It is built around the CQC in England. Practices in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland are regulated by HIW, HIS or RQIA, which it does not cover.
Key capabilities
- A single register of CQC framework requirements, aligned to the single assessment framework and organised by the five key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
- For each requirement: the questions an inspector is likely to ask, the practice’s answers, an accountable owner and the evidence behind it.
- A readiness score rolled up from each requirement’s red, amber or green status, traceable to the specific gaps.
- Evidence flagged as stale after about 12 months, with an audit-logged history.
- Multi-site support and mock-inspection planning.
Pricing
Not published. The product is pre-launch; the supplier’s site has a waitlist.
NHS integrations
Not applicable. It is a governance and evidence tool rather than a clinical system.
Things to check
- When it will be available, and whether that fits your registration or inspection timeline.
- Whether you also need ready-written policies and procedures, which a register of requirements does not replace.
- How evidence is stored and who in the team can see and update it.
